This is a unique blog post for me. It reads more like a comic book than a blog post. The story is written for children but has a timely message for all of us adults too. Since I recently started teachng Sunday school, that got me in the mindset for this story.
Vesta Mangun, a great prayer warrior, woman of God and preacher, stated, “There have been great awakenings without eloquent preachers, great revivals without established organizations, but we will never see a revival without much much prayer.” And “The most important people today are the men and women of prayer. Not those who talk about prayer, or who say they believe in prayer, but those who take time to pray.”
D.L Moody said, “Every great movement can be traced to a kneeling figure. “
There is a spiritual wave sweeping over America right now. Our church has had more visitors and baptisms in the last year than we have had in all of the past 15 years. As I write this, the Asbury revival is going on and starting to spread across the country. Technically, a “revival” is what happens in a church. An “awakening” is when a revival spreads across the country or the world. I’m praying that this is a new awakening.
The people who pray will be part of this revival/awakening. The people who don’t pray will be watching it from the sidelines. Where do you want to be?
In case you are interested, I used Canva.com. It is an awesome site for creating social media posts, slideshows, flyers, or basically anything that has words, pics and backgrounds. The boys were some Canva stock photos. It was challenging to find two boys in the various different positions, so they each are different in style. I’m not artistic enough to draw them on my own, so this is the best I could do.
