The disciples asked, “Lord, teach us to pray.” Jesus answered, “After this manner pray ye…” and He gave us “The Lord’s Prayer.” The 6W method uses His prayer as a pattern to follow. It gives us variety to prevent our prayers from becoming repetitious and gives us words when we are not sure how to approach a need. Our prayers become balanced and pleasing to Him as we approach His throne. Try it, you might like it.
WORSHIP
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
WILL
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
WANT
Give us this day our daily bread.
WASH
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
WATCH
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
WORSHIP
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. Matthew 6:9-13

Prayer For My Church:
WORSHIP
Lord, I thank You for giving me such a wonderful church! I thank You for great people to fellowship with, and I am blessed to have such a wonderful pastor. Jesus, You are so great and mighty in our midst! I worship You!
WILL
I pray for Your will, Lord, regarding my church. It is Your will that laborers be sent into the harvest field, that we should witness to others about this great salvation. I pray for each member of my church, that we would be witnesses in our community for You. Lord, allow each one of us to have an on others as we go about our day.
WANT
Jesus, I want our church to grow in number. We need more young people, and we need more families with children. (Personally, I would add, “God, help our pastor and his family with their personal needs. Encourage them and keep them safe and healthy. Please give him the words to preach that we need to hear, and help him with the hard decisions he needs to make in leading our church. Help all our members be filled with your Spirit and be the people you want them to be.)
WASH
I repent before You, Jesus, because I know that if the church wants sinners to repent, first the church must repent. Lord, please wash me and make me clean through Your blood. Cleanse me, so I can be used by You to reach others.
WATCH
Keep Your eye on our church people at all times, Lord. Guide us as a church body regarding our ministry to our community. Keep each one of us safe and in Your tender care. If any one of us is straying from You, I pray You will watch over that person.
WORSHIP
All honor and praise to You dear Jesus! I love You and I worship You! I thank You, again, for giving me such a wonderful church.
Prayer for Sick People:
WORSHIP
Lord Jesus You are the Great Physician, and I worship You for Your healing power. I thank You for taking the stripes on Your back for our healing.
WILL
The scriptures tell us that it is Your will that______ be in health and prosper, so we ask for their health and healing according to Your will.
WANT
We want these health problems to improve, and we want these people to become well and healthy in Jesus’ name.
WASH
Heal _____ from all sickness and disease with the power of Your healing blood, and wash them from all sin. (James 5:15)
WATCH
Send Your mighty angels into this room to guide, guard and strengthen ________ and their families. Continue to watch over them as they recover.
WORSHIP
Now we worship You and praise You for hearing and answering our prayers. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Prayer for My Country:
WORSHIP
Oh, Lord, I worship You and thank You that I am blessed to be a citizen of our great nation. I thank You for all the people whose sacrifices have given me the country that I enjoy today. I thank You for my right to worship You.
WILL
God, I pray for Your will to be done throughout our great nation. I ask that our leaders would humble themselves and seek Your face, and pray and turn from their wicked ways. (2 Chr. 7:14) I pray that the legislative process will be led by the Holy Spirit. I pray that the laws enacted will honor You. The hearts of our leaders are in Your hands, and I pray that Your will be done through them.
WANT
Lord, I want the people of America to live their lives according to the scriptures because Your word says, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” (Ps 33:12) I pray that Christian power and principles will permeate and elevate our national culture.
WASH
Jesus, I pray for forgiveness for our national sins. We beg Your mercy on us as we work to end the sin of abortion in this nation. Forgive us for legislating You out of our schools and public places. Wash our cities with repentance and give us a nation that is safe for us, our little ones and all our substance.
WATCH
Lord, watch over our armed forces that protect us. Watch over our borders. Keep us safe from those who would harm us. Watch over our government and keep our liberties and freedoms intact.
WORSHIP
Finally, thank You, Lord, for all the blessings we enjoy as citizens. We worship You, Lord, because all of these blessings really flow from You, for You are the King of kings and Lord of lords, and we worship You! In Jesus’ name, amen.
